EX-Bulgaria Defender Trifon Ivanov Dies At Age 50

The former Bulgaria Defender Trifon Ivanov dies at the age of 50. He died as a result of a heart attack, the Bulgarian Football Union (BFU) confirmed the news on Saturday.

“Trifon Ivanov will remain in the history of Bulgarian football as one of the best defenders we all mourn the loss of a true friend.”

He played for CSKA Sofia and Rapid Vienna football club and played 76 times for his country in total. Ivanov was named Bulgarian footballer of the year in 1996.
