#1: Cactus Vs. Human
You might not be able to tell at first, but there’s a man standing next to that giant cactus. This isn’t your average backyard succulent. Some hikers came across this giant cactus while taking a hike in the desert. Naturally, they had to document it so other people would believe they actually saw a cactus this large. One of the hikers posed next to it to show the scale.
This person barely reaches the top of the trunk! Do cacti have trunks? We’re not sure, but that’s what we’re calling this cactus’s base. The rest of the cactus reaches up toward the heavens. You can tell that the top of the cactus is new growth because of the vibrant green color. We can only imagine how long this ancient organism has lived out here in the desert, unbothered by human intervention.
