Sometimes, Americans love to use nouns, or even proper nouns, as verbs. Lysol, a popular cleaning product, is frequently used as a verb. Instead of saying, “I used some Lysol to clean my room”, many people say, “I just lysoled down my room.” See the difference? We’re sure Lysol is proud of themselves.

We can see why non-Americans find this amusing. But you have to hand it to Americans because saying that they lysoled a room sounds much more thorough than cleaning a room. Are all the cleaning products in America used as nouns and verbs? They could be, but Lysol and Clorox are the most popular ones.
