Today, visitors can explore its many rooms, including a chilling torture chamber. But be warned, the castle is said to be haunted. One notable ghost is that of Governor Pieter van Noodt, who, after sentencing several men to death in the 1700s, allegedly died of a heart attack the same day following a curse from one of the condemned.
