Lionel Messi plans to sue Spanish newspaper El Confidencial for linking him and his father to tax evasion projects in the Panama Papers leak.

El Confidencial claims that Lionel and his father have acquired the defunct company Mega Star Enterprises via Uruguayan intermediary.

That this was done in order to launder money to avoid paying taxes to the Spanish government. The Spanish paper produced the contracts showing that Messi and his father had signed on such a deal in 2013.
