We have all watched the show The Simpsons at least once before. Beyond humor, it showed an impressive ability to predict future events, often years before they happened. According to Matt Groening, they animated a lot of episodes and talked about so many topics that logically, some things could be real. Maybe it really is about having a shared understanding of human nature and societal trends. In any case, we invite you to draw your own conclusions while exploring different episodes where The Simpsons used the crystal ball and got it right.
#1: The Shard in London – “Lisa’s Wedding” – Season 6, Episode 19 (1995)

In the episode, Lisa glimpses into the future and sees London’s skyline featuring a towering glass shard. At the time, it seemed like an artistic exaggeration, but then came 2010, and The Shard opened for real. The Simpsons basically predicted it fifteen years ahead. Makes us wonder if someone in the writers’ room was moonlighting as an architect or just had a sixth sense for skyscrapers.
