I can’t figure out what kind of soulless person would make this cake and bring it to a loved one. I understand that they may have good intentions – trying to normalize the difficulty and make it seem okay, trying to make light of the situation and put a smile on their face.

And I also assume that, in this case, the receiver of the cake was probably doing the procedure by choice. Yet even so, it just seems so incredibly insensitive to joke so whimsically about something that can bring up lots of difficult-to-process feelings in the person experiencing it.
