Army men, army troopers, plastic soldiers—no matter what you used to call them, we all had this toy in our house when we were kids. Bergen Toy & Novelty Company introduced these plastic toy soldiers in the U.S. back in 1938. They have gone through some updates and variations throughout the years, but have pretty much kept true to their original form and remained a popular toy in the U.S. and worldwide. They were even placed on Time magazine’s 100 Most Popular Toys of All Time list.
