If you are an avid reader of Cosmopolitan’s relationship advice, you may begin to wonder if the advice will ever begin to work in your life. Of course, the idea behind that advice is that it will be actionable, but if that were the case, why would you need to read continually week after week?
The conspiracy theorist here thinks that the advice in Cosmo is deliberately bad. By giving bad advice, the readers will never find a healthy relationship and will continue reading in hopes of improving their chances. In the end, whether readers succeed or not, Cosmo is mostly concerned about selling as many copies as they can.
