For some reason, it feels like the 80s were only ten years ago. No, wait, it was twenty years ago. Wait, what do you mean it’s been four decades since we were in the 80s? Sadly, time keeps slipping away through our fingers, and what was normal 40 years ago has been lost to time. Let’s reminisce about some things that were big in the 1980s that are now mostly forgotten. How many of these trends do you remember? What was your favorite one?
#1: The Skate Isn’t All That Great
Roller skating was so popular in the 1980s that even the little ones who were just learning to walk were doing it! These colorful roller skates covered many toddler feet in that decade. Nowadays, they’ve been lost to time.
However, they couldn’t skate to save their life. I get making these skates safe for toddlers, but you could push a car faster than you could make it down the driveway on these things. Maybe that’s why they didn’t last the test of time.
