#6: Power Rangers Action Figures
Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers premiered in 1993 and started a massive franchise. This franchise used dubbed footage of Japanese sentai shows alongside original footage to make its own story and characters. It was action-packed and had many cool monsters, and once the Megazord formed, you knew things were about to go off. And the fact that parents clutched their pearls over its (pretty tame nowadays) violence made it even cooler.
It’s no wonder that it also had a successful toy line. You had figures with removable helmets, giant Megazords, and, of course, Rita Repulsa and her army. This makes me want to binge-watch the original series again, ’90s cheese and all. Also, Power Rangers is still going strong, with its latest season, Cosmic Fury, premiering in 2023 with a whopping ten episodes. I miss the days when seasons had lots of episodes.
