#9: An American Classic
This photo brings us back to simpler times. Regardless of what generation you grew up in, you most likely had more than your fair share of bologna sandwiches. The combination of white Wonder Bread and Oscar Meyer bologna was simultaneously bland and delicious. If your mom was a culinary creative, she might have added mayo, mustard, and a piece of lettuce.

The truth is, all you need for this classic lunch recipe are two slices of white bread and some mystery meat. What is bologna, anyway? We may never know, but we sure ate a lot of it when we were kids. We’re sure the classic bologna sandwich is still a staple in many school lunchboxes. It might be weird, but it’s a hit with the kids.
