Nas was a high school dropout who made it big as a multi-platinum-selling rapper. He took his success and started an investment company. But his investment focus was on people not on business ideas. As he explains it, “People. That is the absolute No. 1.” His company, QueensBridge Venture Partners, has invested in more than 40 startups and averages about 20 investments per year. Investments range from $100,000 to $500,000 per company, and in the last six years, Jones’ company has done more than 100 investment deals. His investments include Dropbox, Genius, and Casper.
