A Scandalous Game Night for the Israeli Team
On the eve of Israel’s game against Denmark in the 2000 European playoffs, several players indulged in some risque behavior with some call girls. Though the team lost 5-0, the greater damage had already been done by the time the scandalous event was made public a few days after.
Immediately after the team’s manager Shlomo Scharf resigned, he made a statement saying he was “dumbfounded” by his players’ actions. Multiple people have come forward since then to say that it was Scharf who summoned the ladies in question, but their identities remain unknown.
