Double the miracle
Everything was going well, but little did the couple know that at the six-week scan, they had a surprise waiting for them – Jessica was carrying twins. If having one baby at the first try seemed miraculous, you can only imagine the delight of finding out they were having twins.
However, this sort of thing, as Jessica later found out, was not uncommon in IVF treatments. Since the treatments don’t always work on the first try, they insert more than one embryo to increase the chances of fertilization.
