Cat in the Box Theory
You know those stories your parents always tell about funny stuff you did as a kid? One of the most popular stories in my family is about how I got an expensive toy for my birthday when I was a toddler. Apparently, I unwrapped the gift, got rid of the box (with the toy in it), and played happily with the wrapping paper.

This story was supposed to illustrate my humbleness and the fact that it doesn’t take much to make me happy. But actually, it illustrated something else entirely: the fact that adults understand nothing about what really interests children. And the same goes for cats of course: we have no idea what they’re really into. So, we might as well admit it.
