“Every day’s a good day for chicken,” this KFC advertisement proclaims, and if you’re like us, you probably agreed with that statement initially. But once the graffiti artist added the ominous line, “Unless you’re a chicken,” the ad took on a whole new, much darker meaning.

The truth is, we don’t think too much about whether our food is having a good day. But there’s a pretty good chance that the chicken that made it into that bucket (in pieces, nonetheless) is not having a good day. No, not at all. That’s something to think about.
