#5: The Osbournes
When MTV decided to make a reality series about music icon Ozzy Osbourne and his family, I’m sure they knew they had a hit on their hands. When The Osbournes aired, its inaugural season became the most-viewed series ever for the MYV network. The show ran for four seasons from 2002 to 2005, chronicling the lives of the Osbourne family: Ozzy, Sharon, Jack, and Kelly.

It wasn’t that different than Keeping Up With the Kardashians, but what makes this show unique is that it inspired several reality TV offshoots for the family. Although they weren’t nearly as successful, this show was followed by Osbourne’s Reloaded, Ozzy & Jack’s World Detour, and The Osbournes Want to Believe, which were all on different networks.
