#13: Reunited Antiques
This is a really sweet story of two antique statues coming together in a really symbolic way. These two Royal Doulton Balloon figurines were not always a pair. The woman figurine was being sold by someone whose parents had recently passed away within three months of each other. Although it was a family heirloom, the seller made the tough decision to part with the figurine.
It turns out that selling the figurine would be bittersweet. The person who purchased the Royal Doulton Balloon Lady sent a photo to the seller shortly after it arrived. The Balloon Lady turned out in the right hands as she was reunited with the Balloon Man figurine, making a complete set. It’s sweet to think of this man and woman being together, much like the seller’s parents.
