Marisa Tomei today
The 2000s marked another prosperous decade in her acting career. Tomei starred in the films What Women Want (2000), and In the Bedroom (2001) for which she received her second Academy Award nomination. In 2003, she appeared in the critically-acclaimed comedy Anger Management, and in 2008, she starred in the highly-successful drama The Wrestler, which earned her a third Academy Award nomination.
Tomei’s success continued into the 2010s. In 2011, she appeared in the romantic comedy Crazy, Stupid, Love, and she also had a recurring role in four Marvel Cinematic Universe movies as the character of Aunt May. The actress is not married, and according to her, she does not believe in the concept of marriage, nor in the social convention of motherhood.
