Howard Johnson’s is a brand you may recognize if you need some cheap lodging. However, it was originally a restaurant chain serving diner-style foods and ice cream. It was one of the largest chains in the 1960s and a welcoming spot for many in the LGBTQ community. So, why don’t we see it anymore?

Due to ownership changes, neglect, and failing to adapt to the times and trends, they started to fail in the ’80s, and in 2022, their last location closed its doors forever. This is a shame because I want to try this!
