Installation was successful
It’s pretty weird that we can mix and match organs with suitable donors. If you need a kidney, one of the most highly sought-after organs, someone with the right blood type and body size might be able to enhance your quality of life.
However, one thing people often mistake about kidney transplants is that the surgeons remove the dysfunctional kidney and swap it out with a fresh one. This isn’t the case. Instead, what they do is relocate the first kidney, put in the second, and direct blood from the failing kidney to the new one. If all goes well, the kidney “installation” should be successful.
