Daniel Ek – Spotify
You might not recognize the name Daniel Ek but you’re certainly familiar with his company, Spotify. In 2005, Ek left his engineering studies at the Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden to join the workforce. He worked for multiple websites and eventually founded an online marketing company called Advertigo. Ek sold the business and then teamed up with Martin Lorentzon to start Spotify. Spotify took off, and Ek became a millionaire just a few years later and is now worth 3 billion dollars. The music-streaming service has more than 101 million users.
