Ebonyi State House of Assembly complex gutted by fire

Ebonyi state House of Assembly complex gutted by a strange fire in the early hours of today and the building was completely razed to the ground.

As at the time of this report, policemen with Amour-ed Personnel Carrier, APC were seen stationed as the gate of the Assembly complex as journalists, causal workers of the state Assembly among others were not allowed into the complex.

According to source the fire started from the Accounts department and spread to other parts of the building, destroying everything in the building.

There is however suspicion of foul play as the state accountant general is gearing up for some external forensic auditing before the incident occurred this morning.
