Unknown gunmen kidnapped pastor’s wife in Abakaliki

One (Mrs.) Ifeanyi Aniamaka, the wife of pastor in charge of Dominion City, Kpiripkiri, Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, was kidnapped by unknown gunmen at her residence in Abakaliki.

News has that the victim was trailed with a yellow bus while she was driving i her KIA Rio car. She was intercepted at her residence in Onwe Nkam street, Democratic Estate Abakaliki and whisked away with.

In a chat with the newsmen, her husband and pastor of Dominion City, Kpiripkiri, pastor Aniamaka, called on the church, the security agents across the state, and the neighbors to ensure a speedy release of his wife from the abductors.

The residents are still at shock over the incident that took place place at 3pm of the fateful day, which they described as the first of its kind.

Pastor Aniamaka is calling all to please assist him to find his wife.

He said: “My brother this incident came as a shock to me; we just finished our thanksgiving service for the year and my wife decided to drive the children home and they were intercepted at our residence.

“From the account of my children who were instructed to come down from the vehicle before the kidnappers took my wife away, the kidnappers followed them gradually from behind until they got to our residence in Democracy Estate.

“They threatened my wife with a gun and told my children to come down from the car before they drove away”.

The kidnappers who are still suspected to be within Ebonyi State, had made contact with the family, requesting the sum of N20 million for the release of Mrs. Aniamaka.

Just 2 weeks ago, a Deacon and Deaconess of Assemblies of God Church in the same area in Abakaliki were kidnapped and later released by theri captors afther paying an undisclosed ransom.

It is believed that a syndicate comprising some young men had decided to terrorize churches in Abakaliki by kidnapping members believed to be wealthy in the State.

A source close to the Ebonyi State Police Command who confirmed the incident stated that the police had visited the scene of the incident and that it was working assiduously to ensure the release of the victim.
