You might have warm memories of growing up with funny Eddie Murphy movies such as Coming to America, The Nutty Professor, Daddy Day Care, and Dr. Dolittle. Murphy was everyone’s favorite comedian. So what happened? The funny roles he got were not that good and the movies flopped. He got sick of it and turned to indie dramas and found success in 2006 with Dreamgirls. So he’s basically semi-retired. He told Rolling Stone: “I only want to do what I really want to do, otherwise I’m content to sit here and play my guitar all day.”
