It was a Pussycat Dolls Performance.

When performing in front of an audience, performers face a unique set of challenges. You must remain on cue at all times, and if you make a mistake, the audience will pick up on it immediately. They were having a horrible night as they took the stage for their performance at the American Music Awards in 2006.

A member, Melody Thornton, arrived on stage with 40 seconds left to perform “Buttons,” just as they were about to conclude the song. They carried on with their routine for the remaining 40 seconds as she yelled at them from behind them.
