Holiday gift
The delivery person appears to have just thrown the box against the tree and wall, but upon closer inspection, you see that it’s decorated with Christmas lights.
Perhaps they secured the box so the lights would stay in place. Or, when residents turned their lights on at night, maybe they wanted to bring attention to the package so it would be easier to find.
