Trees Produce the Most Oxygen on Earth
It’s no secret that trees are integral to our planet- they provide us with oxygen, which is necessary for survival. Although the amount of oxygen produced by a tree is tiny in comparison to what marine algae create, it’s still impactful and substantial. Consequently, we should be working hard to preserve forests around the world.
No surprise that photosynthesizing algae produce most of the atmospheric oxygen in the world’s oceans – they occupy more than 70% of Earth’s surface. In fact, these single-celled organisms create more oxygen than all the rainforests on our planet combined. But let’s not get too hasty and start chopping down all the trees just yet…
