The super falcons drawn in group D, in the next year’s FIFA Women World Cup

The Nigeria national women team, the Super Falcons, have now known their group in the FIFA Women World cup 2015,  billed to take place in Canada from June 6-July 5, 2015.

The Super Falcons are said to be placed in the “Group of death.” They are placed in Group D alongside the former champions, United State of America, Australia and Sweden.

By ranking, the Nigerian women are far behind all those placed in their group. The Super falcons of Nigeria will be starting their campaign against Sweden who are currently one of the best female football playing nations in the world.

Cameroon, one other African team in the World Cup is in Group C, where they will slug it out against defending Champions Japan, Switzerland and Ecuador.

Debutant Ivory Coast, who are Africa’s third flag bearer is in Group B with Norway, Germany and Thailand.

Incidentally, the Ivorians are the least ranked amongst the 24 teams that will be on parade in the next year’s Women’s World Cup to be played across six Canadian cities.

The groups are in this order: Group  A– Canada, China PR, New Zealand, Netherlands.  Group B– Germany, Cote d’voire, Norway, Thailand.

 

Group C– Japan, Switzerland, Cameroon, Ecuador. Group D–U.S.A, Australia, Sweden, Nigeria.
