Remaking films and movies isn’t a new concept to the world. Many of the original movies we loved or have heard of are outdated in technology and production, and taking that to a modern stage does a lot for the film and storytelling. You’ve probably watched at least one remake movie in your life, even if you haven’t realized it was a remake! The fresh perspective is truly wonderful, and sometimes it even does better than the original it’s based off. Let’s talk about the best movie remakes of all time, a look back at the films that outshined the originals.

The Godfather (1972)
Francis Ford Coppola’s masterpiece crime drama film is considered by many to be one of the greatest films of all time. The story follows the Corleone family, a powerful Mafia clan in New York City, and the struggles of their patriarch, Vito Corleone (Marlon Brando), to hold onto his power and protect his family amidst a web of violence, betrayal, and corruption. The film is famous for its iconic performances, memorable quotes, and stunning cinematography.
Ocean’s Eleven (2001) – Steven Soderbergh’s stylish heist film is a remake of the 1960 Rat Pack classic. The story follows Danny Ocean (George Clooney) and his team of eleven criminal experts as they plan to rob three of the biggest casinos in Las Vegas simultaneously. While many of the original forms of remakes are excellent on their own, it’s great to see how the new technological advancements and additional actors or bringing old actors in for referencing the original can truly level up the film and its concept.
