Four armed robbers met their death in an auto crash after attacking a team of policemen, while on patrol on the Idanre Road in Akure metropolis.
A police commissioner, Isaac Eke, identified the robbers as the killers of two policemen at a road block in Akure last month. According to the news, the information got to the policemen attached to the ‘B’ Division of the state police command, who gave them a hot chase that led to the crash of their get-away white Hilux vehicle marked 11/260 FG, into a church fence and killed four of them on the spot.
Two AK-47 rifles belonging to Okuta Elerinla Police Division that was carted away from the two deceased policemen they killed last month, were also recovered at the scene of the crash.
Included on the recovered items were, 126 live ammunition, three magazines, N160,120, two number plates of Edo state, 21 handsets, and a substance suspected to be dynamite together with a charm.
As for the suspected ritualists mentioned at the outset, the police said that they were intercepted with the human skull wrapped in a polythene bag while on a stop and search duty.
Another incident was also reported at Mowe area of Ogun state, inside an Abule in Ashimolowo area, of a supposedly pastor of an unidentified mushroom church, with a baby’s head inside a polythene bag.
While the said pastor was being queried by the community, the nylon again got missing turning the whole area into confusion.
