#3: Coming Out of the Cabinet
The idea of China cabinets evokes mixed feelings for me. On the one hand, they are a symbol of a generation that is more concerned with the impression that can be made upon a guest when entering the home than necessarily what goes on inside that home.

On the other hand, they are a remnant of a time when things mattered, physical items had real value, and not everything was made to break or spoil within a few years. China cabinets, although pretentious and potentially disconnected from our own physical realities, remind us that sometimes it is nice to have something precious.
