Natalie Coughlin
Coughlin made her Olympic debut in the 2004 Games in Athens, where she won the US two gold medals, two silvers, and a bronze. In 2008 in Beijing, she won six medals in total, one of them being first place in the 100-meter backstroke. In 2012, she only participated in the 4×100-meter freestyle relay, where she and her teammates won third place.
In 2016, instead of appearing in Rio de Janeiro, she was featured on the cover of Self magazine’s Olympic special issue. While the 38-year-old hasn’t formally announced her retirement, she stopped swimming competitively in 2013. In October 2020, she shared pictures on IG of her second child, baby boy Ozzie.
