However, it’s important to remember that even when friends and family are involved – rather than strangers – we should always be polite and courteous. If you’re grabbing yourself a cup of water, grab one for other people at the table – or at least ask if anyone wants one. If you’re pouring yourself a drink, ask around the table if anyone else wants one. It might take another extra minute to do a whole round, but people would appreciate the gesture.
