Wanting money
Unfortunately, as we’ve read, not all of Cordoba’s relatives believe Alvarenga’s version of events. They are convinced that Alvaregna is responsible for Cordoba’s death, firstly because he took him out on the boat for the fishing trip, and also because they wonder about the possibility of cannibalism.
Cordoba’s family has argued that they should receive a proportion of the money Alvarenga has made from his book in compensation for the fate of their son. Alvarenga is adamant that, above offering Cordoba work on the trip, he is not responsible for his demise. Only he knows the truth, of course.
