Hit and run cases are almost completely unsolvable. Even if the hit-and-runner leaves a piece of incriminating evidence, the case will most likely go unsolved until the end of time. However, if you happen to be a part of an internet car fan club, you might just get the answers you’re looking for.

In this story, after an irresponsible collided with the OP’s car, they left a piece of their own vehicle at the crime scene. After uploading the image, one person commented that the red object belonged to a 2005 Grand Jeep Cherokee. How oddly specific… We hope the guy who identified the car wasn’t the one driving it!
