Until the smartphone made its way into our lives and we began relying on it for just about everything, we used to walk around with a ton of information stored in our heads, some essential, some useless. From directions and addresses to phone numbers and birthdays, these are some of the things that we used to have memorized.

We used to be like walking, talking telephone books with the amount of numbers we had to memorize. The crazy thing is I can still remember the phone number for Curtis Dixon, who lived down the street when I was nine, but I couldn’t tell you my brother’s current mobile number.
