
If Baby Boomers know one thing, it’s how to have a good time. When we were growing up, we had a devil-don’t-care attitude and were doing dangerous things left and right – even if we didn’t realize it. From lax to non-existent seat belt laws to playing on train tracks, we threw caution to the wind and had the most memorable childhoods, even if we got a few bumps and bruises along the way. Take a walk with us through memory lane as we rehash things we did in our wiley youth that are considered dangerous today.
#1: No SPF Awareness
You could argue that the lives of kids today are too cushioned. But that’s because we have so much awareness of so many dangers in everyday life compared to the knowledge people had in the 60s, 70s, 80s, or even a decade ago. For example, people back then didn’t realize how harmful sun exposure was and how important it is to apply sunscreen when going out in the sun.
