Catch of the Day
At first, I assumed there was some kind of optical illusion going on in this photo. I can assure you that is not the case. This photo has not been doctored in any way, shape, or form. The guy could be standing a bit further back, making the fish appear larger than life? The answer is no.
This is not even the largest halibut ever caught. That distinction belongs to a 459-pound fish, coincidentally – also caught in Alaska but in the year 1996. This is a photo of a 327-pound halibut caught in Seward, Alaska. And believe it or not, it is.
