Like many comedy actors who became successful, Mike Myers got his big break on Saturday Night Live. This character co-hosted a show with his friend, Garth Algar, played by Dana Carvey. Myers perfectly captured what it meant to be a young man obsessed with rock and roll who was utterly authentic to himself. This sketch was so famous that it became a movie franchise, further catapulting Myers to success, which also became a huge success.
