A Century Later
Old churches always stand out for their stunning architecture, intriguing sculptures, and stone details and this church in Detroit is no different. What is interesting, though, is that locals always thought that the stone was black until one fine day the city decided to clean it and they realized this wasn’t the case at all.
As it turns out, the church had never been cleaned since it was built 134 years ago. That’s more than a century of dirt and gunk that simply went unnoticed. Crazy, huh? Well, as they say, it’s always better late than never. We can only hope that this wasn’t just a one-off endeavor.
