#35: ClauWau
If we were to name an event modeled after Father Christmas, we would probably go with ClauWau, also known as the Santa Claus World Championships. Each year, fans of Saint Nicholas celebrate the start of the winter season by dressing in red and white. Since entry to the two-day Santa Claus-themed festivities is free, a huge crowd can be found at such championships. Many Christmas contests include climbing various structures, après-skiing, sled-racing, and many other snow sports.
The competition usually features 32 teams of four, each participating in five events in the hopes of winning the crown. Spectators can enjoy many other resort activities in addition to ClauWau, a truly magical winter wonderland.
