#35: The Hemp Olympics
The North Coast of New South Wales, Australia, is notorious for its hemp growth, and the locals have turned that into a sport. The Hemp Olympics are held as part of the annual Mardi Gras Festival. The main attraction of such Mardi Gras events is that the entering cost is meager, and it attracts plenty of folks: it is only two bucks per person to enter any of the events.
The events of this competition include cigarette rolling, bong throwing, and Grower’s Ironperson competition. The latter is for the physically adventurous bunch. The participants have to crawl through lantana tunnels dragging large bags of manure. There is also a look-like competition and many more activities for everyone to enjoy.
