#13: World Toe-Wrestling Championships
Since 1976, another weird championship has slowly carved its niche in the English tradition. It’s a shame that, as of yet, toe-wrestling is not considered an Olympic sport, but it does not stop people from trying it out for themselves. Because of the nature of the sport, the contestants have to take their shoes and socks off.
What follows is an intense lock of the big toe, and in the same position, pushing the opponent’s foot to the side becomes the primary goal. It is precisely how an arm wrestle would happen, but toes are involved rather than fingers. As interesting as it sounds, it is also more challenging since you have limited options of force exertion with your feet instead of arms. Of course, the hands must be on the floor at all times.
