#18: Old Age Wisdom
As opposed to some of the other things we tell our children, this is more of a half-truth than an outright lie. Actually, I suppose it’s just a sentence that can be equally true or untrue depending on the context of its uttering. Sometimes, it’s meant genuinely, and sometimes, it’s just not.

Yet, the truth is that parents can only hope that their children will understand things when they’re older—and that also includes understanding that some things can never be understood. It’s just like how I will never understand why Sandra Mason rejected my super-romantic marriage proposal in the fourth grade.
