Castle Mont Rouge in North Carolina
When it comes to castles, the Castle Mont Rouge in North Carolina is as castle-y as can be. It has several spires, though we’re not sure any archers actually shot anything out of the small openings on the sides. This building was made in 2000, so that’d explain the lack of a moat.
Over the years, vandals have left their mark inside the building, leaving unsightly graffiti tags and ruined furniture. However, efforts to restore the building are underway, and you can expect the castle to open up to the public sometime this year. It’d be pretty neat to see an actual castle in person!
