#23: Crime Story (1986-1988)

If you liked Miami Vice in the 80s, there’s a good chance you would have liked Crime Story as well. Set in the ‘60s, it followed a group of cops battling the mob in Chicago, with a heavy focus on their personal lives and the murky world of crime. The show was all about the cat-and-mouse game between Detective Mike Torello (played by Dennis Farina) and the mob boss, but what really set it apart was its slick, almost cinematic vibe of the 1960s. Unfortunately, it was a bit ahead of its time and didn’t last past two seasons, but it’s still one of those hidden gems you’ll hear people talk about from time to time.
