It’s weird to imagine that the things we use daily have existed in some way, shape, or form a century ago. However, this doesn’t mean that the exact same models that existed in the 1900s exist today. As you can imagine, advancements in technology have made things not just better but also a lot more convenient. Check out what 50+ inventions looked like in the 1900s and how they look today.
Jungle gyms
Did you know that safety wasn’t invented until the 1980s? Back in the late-1800s and early-1900s, kids would climb up several feet of metal without safety harnesses or a spotter from below. If a child plopped onto the ground, they brushed themselves off and resumed playtime.
We’re not sure how true the previous statement is, but we do know that things were wilder back in the day. Now, our jungle gyms are plastic, so they don’t’ get nearly as hot to the touch. Plus, they have those steering wheels that let you navigate your vessel across the seven seas like a pirate.
