16. Text talk
The first message was somehow bearable, but honestly, can anyone figure out her second message? Some people try and be as precise as possible when in comes to texting, and some abbreviations are common and make sense, but this mother took it too far and decided that every word should be reduced to the bare minimum of letters, and this is the confusing result.
This mother invented a new language, what she calls “text talk” (or “txt tlk”), and in some ways, you can say she knows how to text better than her kid. What is texting for parents, after all, if not a way to reconnect with their teenage children? This is what this mother is trying to do with her text talk; too bad her kid doesn’t see it this way.
