The Energy To Reply
Texting can be challenging for introverts at times because conversing with others exhausts them, whether through texting, phone calls, or in-person. Of course, socializing over the phone or in person is more draining because it requires more energy from them, but that doesn’t mean texting can’t have a negative impact on their social battery. Some people believe that because it’s “just a text,” introverts should be able to respond quickly.
You shouldn’t have to talk, you don’t have to look someone in the eyes, and in this age and era of home offices and online education, you don’t even have to wear pants. Texting people back, on the other hand, can be difficult for some introverts because they are still interacting with other human being. Texting people back, whether online or in writing, requires a level of energy that most of them will not have after a long day of living in this overwhelming and chaotic world.
